‘Been hearing about all the international festivals around here?
…Totally confused yet?
Hopefully, this will make your life a little bit easier.
Kaiwomaru Festa
When: Sun., Oct. 23rd, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Where: Kaiwomaru Park, Imizu City
This is an outdoor festival with the typical festival stuff — booths, performances, and food. Toyama AJET will have a booth selling baked goods. Take the Manyosen (Takaoka’s tram) to the Kaiwomaru stop. Don’t forget to take a tour of the ship while you’re there.
Takaoka City International Exchange Festival 2011
When: Sun., Nov. 6th, 1:00pm – 4:30pm
Where: Wing Wing, Takaoka City
This is an indoor space (big building across from Takaoka Station), and there will be activities such as tea and sushi-making along with the booths and stage performances.
International Exchange Festival 2011
When: Sat., Nov. 12th, 1:00pm – 5:00pm; Sun., Nov. 13th, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Where: CiC Building, Toyama City
3rd and 5th floor of the building across from Toyama Station (with the Saizeriya). Music, food, and cultural experiences…but don’t miss the karaoke contest the morning of the 13th, which will have foreigners singing in Japanese!
Namerikawa International Day
When: Sat., Dec. 10th, 11:00am – 3:00pm
Where: Namerikawa Shimin Kouryuu Plaza, Namerikawa City
Apparently this is a few minutes’ walk from Namerikawa Station and “looks like a UFO landed on it.”
…and a bit farther into the future…
Sekai Matsuri (AKA “JET Fest”)
When: Sun., Feb. 19th, 2012
Where: Wing Wing, Takaoka City
This annual event is put together through a collaboration of all of the CIRs of Toyama Prefecture, and we will be enlisting the help of many people!
